An Introduction

My name is Elizabeth Butts (married into that last name) and I live in Delaware with my husband, Mike and six of our seven four-legged babies! Charcoal (my cat) lives in Massachusetts with her grandparents because my husband is severely allergic to her. Here are some pictures of my sweet babies!

I am thirty years old, will be thirty-one on July 28th. I work full time as a Human Resources Technician for the State of Delaware Department of Transportation. Locally this is referred to as DelDOT. I started with the State on January 22 of this year after having moved to Delaware from Iowa in November. We moved for my husband's job, he is the new morning radio show host at Cool 101.3 in Milford, Delaware. I've had experience in web blogging and some web editing. I handle updating and formatting all the morning show stuff on his station's website. If you'd like to see my handi-work there, this is the website: http://www.cool1013.com/morning.php

I have had several careers in my life, the first was when I was 17 years old (1995) and started working as an intern at 92 Pro FM in Providence, RI. This is where I met my husband, he was the morning show host there, but we were no where near involved at that time. Within eight months I was his morning show producer, and I guess that's where the story started. Well, actually, it started when I won a prize on his show and went in to pick it up (on February 21, 1995) and met him and his crew, was offered an internship after being on the air for approximately two minutes and subsequently accepting. My time at the radio station was the happiest, most stressful, most enlightening and frustrating time of my life. I've never worked so hard and enjoyed myself so much. I do miss it - but now that I'm married to the morning guy, no more radio for me!

I have worked in office positions ever since then and as I had time and money finished my bachelor's degree. This past July 7 was my last day of my last class and I finally, FINALLY finished my schooling. On July 25th (three days before my thirtieth birthday) I found out that I was accepted to Boston University's Graduate program and couldn't have been happier or more proud!

Other than being a hard worker and being a student, I am somewhat of an animal activist. I know people that are annoyed that I don't put more into saving children, but the fact is we all have our niches. I will not be having two legged children, but I have four-legged babies and I assure you, they take a lot of work. I will delve into this further in another post!

My personal interests beyond my animal passion are nature photography and crocheting. My nature photography has led to my small business, EMH Creations (made up of my initials with my maiden name, Hale) in which I do hand made note cards with my photography. Crocheting is something I taught myself as I didn't have enough money for Christmas presents one year. Now I do baby blankets when a friend has a baby, or kitty quilts for the cats at the rescue league. Seriously, if you have spare blankets at home, or like to knit or crochet, rescue leagues and shelters have a need for blankets, otherwise the cats are constantly on cold, hard metal cages all day long.

I'm going to dedicate my blog to my passion of animals, my personal interest of nature photography and crocheting my kitty quilts and baby blankets and perhaps my thoughts on life as we know it. I am going to shy away from topics of a political nature, as I think it could be dangerous if personal opinion were misconstrued as fact, and I don't think it is ethical for me to lead someone down the wrong path.

I welcome your comments, and look forward to getting to know everyone who stops by!
